I’m so thrilled that Beyond the Horizon is finally released and available to readers. After what has been an incredible journey writing the book, working with such inspirational people, including two pilots, and the former Executive Director of the Women’s Air Force Service Pilot’s museum, Ann Hobing to bring the story to fruition, I’m delighted to be able to share this book with you.
The WASP were a group of unsung heroes, over a thousand women who gave so much for their country during the Second World War. Flying 60 million miles in 178 different types of planes, 38 of them lost their lives and they were not given any recognition until they had to fight Congress to receive military status.
On July 1st, 2009, Barak Obama signed off to give the WASP the Gold Congressional Medal, and finally, they gained the recognition they deserved.
I have written from the heart about these women, and I’m taking some time today to reflect on them, and on all they did during the war.
Happy reading, and I hope you enjoy Beyond the Horizon,
